YOUNGSTERS in Doncaster will be dancing for joy after news this week of a huge funding boost from the Arts Council.
The £85,360 cash injection will be used to deliver a three-year dance programme for Dance Whispers, which aims to increase the amount of youth dance activity in the town.
Doncaster Council will work on the project in partnership with various groups involved in the Alliance for Dance.
Cynthia Ransome, Doncaster Council’s cabinet member for communities, said: “Our ambition is that Doncaster becomes a nationally recognised centre of excellence in engaging men with dance.
“People of all ages benefit from dance, as well as being a fun physical activity, it can increase self-confidence.”
