CCTV appeal to find man who assaulted toddler on Doncaster bound train

Doncaster rail passengers are being asked to help find a man wanted in connection with an assault on a toddler on a train on the East Coast Main Line.

Railway police have issued a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection with the incident which happened on the 4pm Virgin East Coast service from Edinburgh Waverley to Peterborough on Sunday, 12 February.

The man, who spoke with a North East accent, was about 5ft 10ins, in his late 30s and of a large build.

He had short, black, spiked hair and was wearing glasses, a black and white polo shirt, a dark jacket, dark grey jeans and white trainers.

He was wearing a thick metal chain around his neck, and had a tattoo on his right arm.

The incident happened as the train was at Edinburgh Waverley station.

Pc Joss Froggatt of British Transport Police is appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the photographs to contact BTP.
