Eleven cars have been set alight in a deliberate fire at a Doncaster scrapyard.
Fire crews from Edlington station attended the scene of the incident on Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, in the early hours of Friday morning.
Nobody was injured.
A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “A fire at a disused scrapyard on Doncaster Road in Consibrough was reported in the early hours of Friday January 8.
“One fire engine from the Edlington station attended the incident. On arrival, firefighters found 11 crushed cars were alight and the fire had spread to the surrounding trees. After taking precautions to protect the remaining woodland, the crew was able to extinguish the fire.
“There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.”
