Caring cooks raise cash for Doncaster cancer charity

A group of caring catering staff at a Balby-based trust have raised over £240 to help Doncaster cancer sufferers realise their dreams.

Catering assistants Vicky Armit, Nicky Williams and Sharon Barker who work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) in the Food and Drink Café at Tickhill Road Hospital, held a raffle in the run up to Christmas and donated all the proceeds to the Doncaster Cancer Charity Eve Merton Dreams Trust, which helps create a dream for terminally or seriously ill cancer patients.

Nicky Williams said: “We decided to hold a raffle to support this local good cause and sold tickets for £1 each to staff and visitors to the café.

“We’re delighted to have raised so much money and it’s lovely to know it will go towards making someone’s dream come true. A huge thanks to everyone who bought tickets for their support.”
