Care home in Rotherham leads the way with its pioneering work

Broadacres care home in Rotherham has been recognised internationally for its work in dementia care.

The care facility is part of the PEARL specialist dementia care programme (Positively Enhancing and Enriching Residents’ Lives) that has been attracting international attention because of its success in achieving dramatic reductions in the need for medications to manage the symptoms and a corresponding improvement in the wellbeing of people with dementia.

The dementia care programme, developed by leading independent health and social care provider Four Seasons Health Care, has won numerous awards including from The Improvement Foundation for its pioneering excellence.
