Cakes and coffee raising cancer charity cash

Cakes and cuppas helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity as generous Isle folk took part in the annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer.

In Epworth Carol Mellers helped organise an event at the Imperial Hall. She said: “A big thank you to everyone who supported it by coming, donating and working tirelessly to make it the best yet, raising the incredible sum of £900.

At Epworth Thurlow Pre-School Playgroup £100 was raised by selling tea/coffee and cake.

A Bake Off competition was held and the results, judged by Kerry Lee from Hattie’s Tearooms and MP Andrew Percy, were: 1st - Katie Facer, 2nd - Claire Poole, 3rd Caroline Clarke.
