Work has started on a major refurbishment of the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe.

This is the first major refurbishment since the centre opened in 2001. It will remain open while work takes place though the café and toilets will be closed. Improvements will be made to the entrance area, including the café, gift shop, toilets and meeting room.

The gift shop will remain open, offering a selection of jewellery, glassware, ceramics and textiles. The café will have new energy efficient kitchen equipment. The cost of the work is £590, 000. The Arts Council is providing £490,000 and North Lincolnshire Council has put forward £100,000.
