Stainforth Post Office is undergoing a refurbishment and will be open to the public an extra 51 hours a week.
The Church Street branch will relaunch on Tuesday, March 1, at 1pm with a new layout and longer opening hours of 7am to 9pm seven days a week aimed at improving convenience for customers.
The branch is set to close temporarily on Wednesday, February 24, at 5.30pm to allow the works to take place.
In the meantime, customers are urged to use services at Dunscroft Post Office or the Old Village Post Office at McColls Retail Group in Thorne Road, Stainforth.
Anne Clark, area manager, said the revamped office will offer a wide range of new services.
She added: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
Services offered at the refurbished branch will include mail, special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
Customers will also be able to pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
