The Star would like thank all the companies which helped ensure a Doncaster couple had their perfect wedding day.
Diane Eyre and Alec Smith, of Rossington, tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens on Friday after winning their dream £15,000 day in The Star’s Win a Wedding competition.
Diane wore a princess -style gown designed by Kelly Marie Redhead, from KMR Bespoke Bridal, who also created a pink dress for bridesmaid Sharron Smith.
Kelly, finalist in the best student designer of the year category in the bridal buyer awards, worked with Diane for several months to create the perfect design.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds took part in a photo shoot worth £1,249 with city photographer Lloyd Siddall.
They then travelled to Whirlowbrook Hall for a three-course wedding breakfast and afternoon tea for 40 guests.
They later enjoyed an evening buffet for 80 guests, before dancing the night away.
Their prize also included a photo booth, provide by Fotoboov, which allowed the couple and their guests to create memorable pictures.
The newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance to Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars.
Readers voted for the couple after Alec told of how he first fell for Diane when he would buy a daily cheese and ham sandwich from the shop where she was working.
Eventually, they arranged to meet up for a drink – and the rest is history.
Alec, aged 47, a project manager, said: “It was perfect for us, everything we could have wished for.”
