Green award for burial park

A SPECIALIST in eco-friendly funerals has won an award for its working practices.

Respect Woodland Green Burials, which has a site in Bawtry, was recently named Green Business of the Year at a regional awards ceremony.

The company offers private burial and promotes the use of natural eco-friendly materials for burials and memorials. It also works hard to protect greenbelt land from development and is committed to enhancing the environment through initiatives such as flower and tree planting.

Respect’s Alison Finch said the company was proud to have won Green Business of the Year in the North Notts Business Awards. “Winning this award will help Respect in engaging with the community and collaborating with more local businesses to source services and suppliers,” she added.

Colleague Gordon Tulley commented: “Being part of the award-winning members of the local business community further positions Respect Green Burial Parks at the forefront of green businesses in the region positively demonstrating that right here in this area we can innovate and build sustainable businesses together.”

This latest award follows a recent accolade from the Wildlife Trust for protecting the environment.

The business opened just 18 months ago and the Bawtry site was added last year.
