Doncaster council are set to make a decision today over controversial plans to build a £6million waste plant.

The council is proposing to build a ‘waste transfer station’ on the Kirk Sandall Industrial Estate where tonnes of household rubbish would be stored in a bid to reduce landill, and a decision is set to be made at a Planning Committee meeting this afternoon.

This follows public exhibition and consultation events with the public earlier this year.

Residents from Kirk Sandall and Edenthorpe have expressed their concern over the waste transfer station, and have collected over 1,100 signatures in opposition to the plans.
