Campaign over Doncaster rail route continues

Rail union workers staged another protest at Doncaster station today to gather support for their campaign to stop the East Coast line being privatised.

Passengers arriving and departing from Doncaster were met by RMT members handing out leaflets condemning the proposed sell-off of the route.

They handed out hundreds of cards to passengers which they hope they will send to their MP.

The RMT believes the benefits of keeping the operating company out of private hands wopuld be lower fares, higher safety standards and job security for staff, with people paying less in taxes because of money going to the Treasury.
