This edition includes full coverage of all 14 categories in the fourth City Region Business Awards, held this year at Magna and sponsored again by Learning Unlimited. We were honoured to have Sir Nigel Knowles, chair of the Local Enterprise Partnership, as headline speaker. He gave an inspirational speech with the message that you can start local and grow to become global.

The magazine also features an interview with Rupert Carr, the man behind the £400m Peak Resort holiday village planned for Chesterfield. No quitter, his dream is finally being realised after 28 years.

As students prepare for the new academic year, there’s a an excellent feature by Jo Davison on the university experiences of four up-and-coming business people, not all of whom finished their course.

There’s also two pages on the region’s reaction to the decision by HS2 Ltd to switch the South Yorkshire station from Meadowhall to Sheffield city centre and two pages of reaction and advice post Brexit vote.

All the regulars are there too, including Chamber news, social pictures, commercial property and deals updates and a review of a Rolls-Royce, no less.

The Business is published bi-monthly by Johnston Press - owners of The Star in Sheffield, Doncaster Free Press and Derbyshire Times - and is backed by all four Chambers of Commerce.
