BREAKING: Police investigation launched after reports three men raped woman in Doncaster alleyway

Reports that a woman was raped and robbed by three men in Doncaster has sparked a police investigation.

The victim, who is aged in her forties, was returning home around 11pm last night when she was reportedly attacked by three men in an alleyway that connects Lister Avenue to Balby Road.

The area in Balby, remained sealed off while forensic teams examined the scene.

The victim, who sustained a head injury which required hospital treatment, is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

Police patrols have been increased in the area to reassure residents.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact police via: 101 and quoting incident number 1224 of the 20 February.”

The reported attack took place just yards from the filming location of BBC sitcom Open All Hours.
