BREAKING: Police and fire service at scene of Doncaster collision

A person has been taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We were called at 12.51pm by the ambulance to reports of a vehicle and a motorcycle being involved in a collision on Askern Road.

“A person in the vehicle was medically trapped and had to be extricated by removing the roof of the vehicle. The causality has been taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Two fire engines, one from Doncaster and one from Adwick are currently still on the scene. There are nine firefighters there in total. Nothing is known about the persons injuries.”

It is not yet known if the person in the vehicle is the driver, or if they are male or female.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We were called at 12.39pm to reports of a two car road traffic collision between a car and a motorbike. We sent two ambulances and took one patient to Doncaster Royal.”
