Boy left with brain injury after Swinton road crash

A young teenager has been critically injured in a road traffic incident at Swinton.

Witnesses are sought by police to the incident that was on Station Road at about 11.15am on Sunday morning.

It is understood a 57-year-old man was driving a blue Peugeot 306 along Station Road towards Swinton, and as he approached the junction with Crossland Street, a 13-year-old boy is believed to have run out into the road, straight in to the path of the car.

The teenager was taken to hospital where he remains seriously injured with a bleed on the brain.
