A cold weather alert has been put in place by the Met Office with blustery showers set to turn to snow in Doncaster.
Today there should be a good deal of cloud but for many it will be a dry day.
The cloudy conditions continue overnight, with outbreaks of rain becoming more widespread from the west after midnight, perhaps with the odd heavier burst. Southwesterly winds will also strengthen. Minimum temperature 4C.
Tomorrow will see it turning much colder, with strong winds giving a significant wind-chill. There will be sunny intervals, in between blustery showers, these turning to snow by afternoon, with some accumulations even at low level. Maximum temperature 5C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: the cold and often windy conditions persisting, and giving a significant wind-chill. A mix of sunny intervals and wintry showers, with further accumulating snow expected, more especially on hills.
