ARSONISTS caused a fire which spread to three derelict houses in Goldthorpe.
Fire crews from Dearne, Adwick and Doncaster stations were called to the scene on Main Street at about 1.15am on Friday.
Firefighters used three main jets and a special aerial platform to tackle the blaze which spread across all three adjoining properties.
They made sure the blaze did not spread to any other houses and left the scene at 3.30am.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said: “Fire crews had to work hard to contain the fire to stop the blaze spreading to anymore houses.
“The damage caused was extensive, particularly to the house where the fire was started.
“It is believed the blaze was started deliberately.”
