Blaze in farmers’ field near Hatfield

Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze in farmers’ fields on the outskirts of Doncaster.

The fire happened on land near Low Levels Bank between Hatfield and Sandtoft at about 3pm on Friday.

An onlooker said a firefighter at the scene said a vehicle had gone up in flames.

She added: “The crew were having to relay water to the scene using the farmer’s 4x4 truck as the fire engine could not get onto the field.”
