Blaze at metals factory

STAFF at a metals factory in Manvers were evacuated in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a fire broke out.

Workers at Metalysis at Farfield Park, Manvers Way, were escorted out of the building by firefighters at about 5.35am.

A brigade spokesperson said it is believed the blaze started in an oil heater and was accidental.

Crews from Dearne Fire Station used hose reels to put the fire out and left after an hour.
