The Scawthorpe fighter was touted as a prospect following impressive performances in his early pro career but walked away from the ring three years ago after becoming disillusioned with the sport.

But he has rejoined Stefy Bull’s gym with a determination to dedicate himself to boxing and has his first fight back this weekend.

Former junior ABA champion Crowcroft was 8-3-0 when he hung up his gloves, having lost out narrowly to Doncaster rival Jason Ball over eight rounds at The Dome in February 2015.

He is joined on Friday’s bill by Denaby Main’s Terri Harper, who continues her first tentative steps in the professional ranks.

Harper is 2-0 so far in her pro career and will face Polish opposition this weekend.

Balby’s Lewis ‘Too Smooth’ Booth is set for a tricky test against the experienced Killamarsh fighter Lee Connelly.

Booth is unbeaten in seven fights so far.

And fellow Doncaster fighter Jimmy Joe Flint will make his official professional debut.

Flint was in the ring fighting when the last card at The Dome was halted due to the collapse of boxer Scott Westgarth in the changing rooms following his clash with Dec Spelman. Westgarth died the following day.

With Flint’s fight waved off, no result was taken, meaning his actual debut will take place this weekend.

Denaby’s Adam Jones is also set for a rare bout in the home corner as promoter Bull looks to push him into title contention.

A handful of tickets are still available for Friday night’s bill. Call 07976328015 for more details.
