Retailers and business owners in Bawtry have planned a special Christmas night to thank the residents of Bawtry for their support.

The Bawtry Retail Association (BRA), an organisation created to promote and support businesses in the area, will host their Christmas Time Event, which will include a Christmas light switch-on, on Friday, November 29 between 4-6pm.

The event which will be held across the town will see a selection of stalls in Dower House Square, The Courtyard and Market Place and Traxie Bear will switch the light on at 5pm.

Chair of the Bawtry Retail Association, Mark Bates said: “Christmas is such a great time of year and we wanted to make sure we put together an event that all the family could enjoy.”

“It’s already shaping up to be a really great event and a great start to a busy Christmas in the town.”

“Whilst all the family can enjoy traditional Christmas stalls and get ahead with their shopping early in the evening the festive spirit will continue into the night,” said Mark. “ China Rose are hosting a jazz night and also a live band will be playing at the Jinja Tree and of course all our other restaurants will be open as usual so you can make a night of it in Bawtry.”

Entertainment on offer will include visits from Santa and the Tickhill Lions and there will also be stilt walkers and fire breathers.

There will also be plenty of refreshments available including mulled wine, speciality coffees, winter cocktails and a hog roast.
