Bawtry BHF team wins top award for '˜relentless determination'
Volunteers from across Bawtry have received the Fundraising Volunteer of the Year award from the British Heart Foundation.
They were handed the accolade in recognition of their “relentless determination in the fight against heart disease.”
Their efforts have resulted in them raising £658,383 over the past 28 years helping the charity to fund its life-saving research. Present and past branch members picked up the national award at the start of Volunteers’ Week, the annual celebration that recognises the work of all volunteers across the UK.
Brian Swift, branch chair, said: “We are delighted to have been given such a special award as there are so many worthy volunteers. We’re a great team and proud to represent the BHF.”
