Parents in Doncaster are being given the chance to learn about baby massage, which helps babies to sleep longer and gives them a range of health benefits.
Baby massage has many benefits including stimulating circulatory, immune, digestive, respiratory and nervous systems, increasing body and mind awareness and improving learning ability.
Community nursery nurse Jenny Marsh, who works for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) is delivering the sessions to new mums and dads in the borough.
Jenny said: “Baby massage is a special time for parents to communicate verbally and non-verbally with babies so that they feel loved, valued and respected. I have had a great response from parents and they thoroughly enjoy taking part in this activity with their babies”
Anyone wanting to join the baby massage groups should contact their local health visiting team or children’s centre.
