LIFESTYLE Group, Butterfly Babes, from Goole have been lending a hand to The Hinge centre’s Chances for Life Project - funded by the Big Lottery - during the summer holidays.
Lucy Pollard, Olivia Bartlett, Bethany Cawthorn and Cerys Butterfield have been spending every Thursday helping the team at the Carlisle Street based centre to bag up produce for the Food Bank.
Chantal Russell at The Hinge, said: “The group have also been helping us with another food initiative we have as part of our resettlement support to those in housing need or facing times of hardship by collecting food supplies and personal items such a toiletries from members of the local community, to be used in emergency packs.
“The girls have done really well in collecting tinned and dried foods such as pasta and rice. Our supplies have been down due to a high volume of need in the current climate and we rely on donations from community members, local businesses and in particular schools and churches at Harvest Festival time.” Anyone who would like to help with the appeal is asked to contact Chantal on 01405 765435.
