A CHURCH roof appeal is set for a twin boost with fundraising events lined up later this month.
Volunteers at All Saints’ Church in Misterton were faced with a £33,308 repair bill after the site was targeted eight times in as many years by lead thieves.
However a number of community events have seen £26,560 riased for the ‘fighting fund’ but £6,748 still needs to be found.
The next fundraiser is an auction of various products and goods at the church on Saturday, March 24.
Among the goodies on offer are hair vouchers, fish and chip suppers, rounds of golf and afternoon tea for two, mostly donated by Isle and Misteron businesses.
Doors open for viewing of auction lots at 5.30pm with bidding to start at 6pm.
And on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31, the church will also host a sale of disability goods, donated by Callandine of Gainsborough.
The sale will include products such as motorised scooters and long-handled shoe horns with the event running between 10am and 4pm on both days. Refreshments will be available.
