Arsonists’ blaze spree across South Yorkshire

Firefighters were kept busy and attended numerous incidents across South Yorkshire overnight.

Arsonists set fire to bushes and a tree in Fraser Road, Woodseats, at 10pm on Wednesday night. Firefighters from Lowedges station spend 20 minutes tackling the blaze.

Over in Barnsley, fire bugs set alight a pile of litter on land in High Greave, Smithies, at 11.20pm. A crew from Cudworth Fire Station dealt with the blaze.

In Doncaster, arsonists torched a skip in Burcroft Hill, Conisbrough, at 11pm. Dearne Station firefighters spent 20 minutes at the scene.

At 4.20am this morning arsonists set fire to debries in a garden at Schofield Street, Mexborough. Firefighters from Dearne and Rotherham were at the scene for 20 minutes.
