A massive straw bale blaze in the Isle late last night (Tuesday) was started deliberately, it is believed.
The fire involving 136 tonnes of bailed straw on land off Luddington Road, Garthorpe, did not spread beyond the stack.
Fire crew from Crowle spent well over three hours quelling the flames after first being alerted at 11.07pm.
Mrs Karen Lothard of Home Acres Farm said the straw was on farmland that was contracted out.
Police are investigating.
