Officers were called to Silver Street last night with eye witnesses reporting they had seen a number of armed officers in attendance at the scene.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said that the incident was a sudden, non-suspicious death and would not be releasing any further details about the fatality.
The street has long been the centre of Doncaster’s night life scene.
