A crowdfunding appeal has been kicked off to raise £500 to fix the damage at the Notorious Aardvark store in Waterdale after a window was smashed by "mindless idiots."

£320 has already been raised by well-wishers for the appeal set up by a friend of store owner Simon Saynor.

The appeal, at the crowdfunder.co.uk website, is entitled Replace the Window at the Notorious Aardvark and 19 people have already pledged cash backing to the appeal to get the cash before August 16, otherwise the funding bid will fail.

Mark Loraine, who has set up the appeal wrote: "So, Mr Saynor at the Notorious Aardvark Record Shop has had his window broken by mindless idiots!

"The shop is Doncaster's only real source for vinyl and we need to keep it running. Can we try and help out with a bit of cash from the Doncaster Community and all other friends of the Aark to help replace the window as it is going to be bloomin' expensive to put right ????

"Anything you can give would be a great help."

Crowdfunding is a concept where individuals come together to pledge cash to help various projects take place.
