Alliance League: Premier Division leaders Scawthorpe Athletic hit Stainforth for six

Scawthorpe Athletic opened up a two-point lead at the top of the Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Premier Division table after beating second-placed Stainforth New Inn 6-0.

Sam Corner hit a double with Lewis Tinsley, Haydn Tomlinson, Shaun Mundy and Lee Tilley sharing the other four goals.

Ben Clark led the way with a four-goal haul as Rakkam also scored six without reply away to bottom club Upton Wrangbrook who continue to find it hard going in the top flight after being promoted several divisions. Richard Dunn and Mark Carter completed the scoring.

Defending champions Canal Tavern, who lost both opening games, recorded back-to-back wins when beating Atletico Grace 1-0.

Durban beat Carpenters Arms, for whom Ryan Brewster and Matt Kilvington netted, by the odd goal in five.

Dunscroft Social moved level on points with Championship leaders FC Cumberland, who have a better goal difference, when beating second-bottom Plough Inn Rovers 5-1.

Rosehill Press (Robert Lee, own goal) missed out on the chance to go top after being held to a 2-2 draw by Bessacarr. Michael Leightley and Andy Willis shared the Bessacarr goals.

Bentley West End lost ground following their 1-0 home defeat by FC Independent. Carcroft Village Club climbed off bottom spot after beating Real Bridge A 3-2.

Wheatley Club and The Beverley Inn shared the spoils from their 3-3 draw.

Jacob Tooner weighed in with a hat trick as White Hart (Askern) continued to set a scorching pace at the top of Division One when beating FC Ivanhoe 5-1 on the road to claim their sixth successive win. Brachen Steel and Scott Dixon also chipped in.

The Salutation, whose goals were shared by Ricky Neer and Andy McMahon, climbed into second place on the back of a 2-1 win at Rossington Athletic.

AFC Balby dropped from second to third after being held to a 3-3 draw by Pit Club Miners.

Finningley Athletic beat Auckley 4-2 to claim their second win thanks to a brace by Sabih Rehman and single strikes by Peter Lindsay and Calvin Apen.

Windmill Wanderers dropped into the bottom two after losing 3-2 at Wheatsheaf (Doncaster) whose winning goals were shared by Kyle Drury, Nathan Amery and Max Hatton.

The top three in Division Two all had their shooting boots on.

Leaders Edlington Welfare, for whom Ben Watson, Jordan Willis and Gary Jebb all bagged a brace, led the way with a 9-0 rout of bottom club AFC Rossington. Danny Murphy, Daniel Buzza and Aaron Harrison also found the net.
