A football tournament with an all-stars line-up to play the winners, forms part of a free day of fun and live music organised by a former Doncaster Rovers striker.
The Love Life UK Festival, to take place from 1pm on June 11 in Bentley Park, will be opened by Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband.
Event organiser Bruce Dyer, who made 15 appearances for Rovers, and also played for Crystal Palace and Barnsley, signed Mr Miliband up to the task.
There will be live music, with Janine Dyer of ‘The Voice’ fame among the acts, and special guest Dan Magness, a world record breaking freestyler with phenomenal ball control. Funfair rides and games will be provided, with soccer challenges and prizes to be won!
The five-a-side football tournament’s all-stars side for the final includes Mr Dyer, former Rovers players Brian Stock, Gordon Greer and Barry Miller, and former Premier League stars Clinton Morrison and Michael Johnson.
Teams can still try their luck and enter for £50, by visiting the website www.lovelifeukfestival.com
Ed Miliband was delighted to be asked along to the event. He said: “It will be a fantastic day with a great deal going on, including football, music and lots of other entertainment. I’d encourage everyone in Bentley, and beyond, to come along and join in.”
Other acts to take to the main stage will include award-winning Isiaiah Raymond Dyer, The Moment, Crossfya and Just Jodi.
Mr Dyer has his own Love Life Soccer and Sports School to provide both competitive sports skills coaching and personal character development.
Love Life UK was formed by Bruce and Janine Dyer to host events, many sports-orientated, where people of all ages can socialise in a ‘good, clean, fun-filled and positive atmosphere’.
