An eagle-eyed user of Roadworks.org spotted that the town’s main hospital has apparently moved from its traditional Armthorpe Road site to a spot in Sandall Park, just off Thorne Road.

The latest maps clanger comes after a Doncaster driver was left bemused – after a maps app moved the M6 motorway from the Midlands to near Tickhill.

Anita Johnson was using motoring app Waze to check if the A19 north of Doncaster had re-opened in readiness for a trip to visit family in York.

But she was left bemused after noticing that the A1(M) appeared to have been replaced by the M6 toll motorway.

She said: “Spotted this anomaly – the M6 has moved to Doncaster, well according to Waze maps it has.

"I noticed the M6 had moved when I was checking if the A19 had been reopened in readiness for a visit to family in York.”

Anita’s app showed the motorway running past Styrrup Hall and then past Tickhill before heading north past Doncaster.

The M6 Toll is actually 82 miles away from Doncaster and connects the M6 at Coleshill Interchange to Wolverhampton with 27 miles of six-lane motorway and is the only major toll road in Great Britain.
