Afghan hero Ben Parkinson supports Doncaster charity walkers

Brave Ben Parkinson will be among a number of people walking through Doncaster to highlight mental health issues.

Dedicated staff and users from Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Foundation Trust (are also to take part in the national walk organised by fund-raiser Tony Russell on April 18.

Tony’s What’s it all about walk covers NHS mental health services from Kent to Newcastle.

He wants to raise money and awareness for mental health in the arts as well as raise funds for Combat Stress, a charity who support servicemen experiencing severe mental distress.

The two mile walk begins at St Catherines House, Tickhill Road at 10.30am and finishes at RDaSH’s psychological therapies drop in facility, the Talking Shop, at Hall Gate, Doncaster.
