Adoption advice will be given to people of the Barnsley East area during an information invitation evening on Tuesday.

Barnsley Council’s adoption team will be holding another advice session at Barnsley Town Hall which will be starting at 6.30pm.

Current records show that Barnsley currently has 50 children in need of a forever home where potential parents are asked if they feel they could offer a child a permanent, loving home and a better future for a child.

The adoption team say that all you need to do is come along to one of Barnsley Council’s adoption information evenings to find out more about the children that could be “counting on you”.

A spokesman for the team added: “If you are concerned about your age, marital status or living arrangements, don’t be. Our children come from all walks of life – as do our adoptive parents. It’s quicker than you might think too. In fact, you could be approved in as little as six months and have a child placed with you within three months after that.”
