Ad Hoc singers need accompanist

Since recruiting David Cooper as Musical Director earlier this year, following an article in the Driffield Times and Post, the ‘Ad Hoc’ Singers have gone from strength to strength.

They are building on an already diverse repertoire, ranging from Mozart’s ‘Ave Verum Corpus’ to Freddie Mercury’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, and are available to perform at most occasions and venues.

After a successful summer of concerts, the ‘Ad Hoc’ Singers are looking forward to performing at a lunchtime concert at St. John’s Methodist Church, Bridlington, on November 11th, with music and readings around the theme of remembrance.

During December, the choir will perform John Peterson’s ‘Night of Miracles’ at the Methodist Churches of Burton Fleming and Beeford, and in the New Year the group will be rehearsing for Holy Week performances of Stainer’s ‘ Crucifixion’ at Wetwang Methodist Church and St. Andrew’s Church, Foston on the Wolds.

Sadly, ‘Ad Hoc’s’ long-standing accompanist, Leslie Burtenshaw, has now decided to retire, and his strong musicianship and sensitive accompaniment will be greatly missed. The group are looking for a versatile pianist to accompany them for rehearsals and performances.
