Accident closes busy Doncaster road and leaves two people trapped

Emergency services have closed a busy Doncaster road, following a one-vehicle collision that left the car on its side and two people trapped.

The accident occurred at around 12.40pm in Brand Lane, Sprotbrough and a spokesman for South Yorkshire fire and rescue confirmed the two casualties are now believed to have been freed from the vehicle.

The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved in the collision is not yet known.

Sheep Lane in Sprotbrough is closed in both directions between the Melton Road junction and the Brand Lane junction following the collision.

Police and crews from Edlington and Adwick fire stations are currently on the scene.

It is not yet known when the road is expected to reopen.
