The dazzling show has a new host, Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc, who brought a fantastic comedic element to proceedings.

Celebrities Jay McGuiness, Georgia May Foote, Ainsley Harriet, Helen George and Anita Rani from last year’s show were joined by 2014 stars Frankie Bridge and Jake Wood and judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horword and Bruno Tonioli.

Each couple performed two routines, with host Mel hilariously filling in between each routine as she chatted with the contestants and judges and flirted hopelessly with hunky dancers Gleb, Aliaz and Giovanni.

There were also big set piece routines featuring celebs and their professional partners, to a soundtrack provided by a live band and stunning vocalists.

Performance of the night was by Strictly champ Jay McGuiness and partner Aliona Vilani, who perfectly recreated their Pulp Fiction Jive to rapturous applause.
