CHILDREN had the chance to find out what it was like to a paralympian during a school sports day.
For youngsters from Dunsville Primary School were taught skills in sporting events such as goalball, sitting volleyball, blind football and wheelchair basketball.
The scheme was organised by Edenthorpe supermarket Sainsbury’s to celebrate the run-up to the 2012 Paralympics in.
The event also helped to raise around £260 for the Danum Eagles wheelchair basketball team.
The sports day, held at Danum Academy in Armthorpe Road, Wheatley, was also part of a national scheme by Sainsbury’s called Active Kids to get a million children across the UK to take part in Paralympic sports.
