The New Year is upon us - here are seven things you simply must do in Doncaster in 2016.
1. Visit the Vulcan
The world's last flying Vulcan bomber, based at Robin Hood, may now be grounded, but '16 is a big year for the Vulcan To The Sky Trust as the plane enters a new chapter. See her make fast taxi runs and get a glimpse of the iconic aircraft in her hangar.
2. Cheer on the winner of the St Leger
It might seem a long-way off, but people are already making plans for the biggest date on Doncaster's social calendar. This year's four day racing spectacular at Doncaster Racecourse will take place from September 9-12.
3. Take a stroll back in time at Brodsworth Hall
Beautiful Brodsworth Hall is gearing up for another busy year of events and attractions - and the hall will be in tip-top condition when it re-opens after a massive winter overhaul. Make sure it is on your to-do list for 2016.
4. Enjoy a pint at one of Doncaster's best real ale pubs
The Leopard in West Street has just been named the Winter Pub of the Season by the Doncaster branch of the Campaign For Real Ale. Make sure you get yourself along for a few seasonal tipples to while away those cold nights.
5. Meet a Hollywood film star at Cast
Acclaimed stage and screen star Simon Callow, one of the UK's most respected actors, will be staging An Evening With event at Cast on April 1. You'd be a fool to miss out on the actor's discussion about the life and work of the legendary Orson Welles.
6. Watch the Tour de Yorkshire come to town
The world's best cyclists will descend on Doncaster on April 30 when the Tour de Yorkshire comes to town. It will be one of the year's biggest events - make sure you are there for the colourful carnival on two wheels.
7. Watch Doncaster Rovers win the League One play-off final?
OK, this one might not happen, but Darren Ferguson's newly revitalised side are going great guns and some supporters are already whispering of promotion. Will Rovers return to Wembley for the League One play-off final on May 29?
