Unsigned band secure arena support dates

Four rising stars of the South Yorkshire music scene are preparing for their biggest gig to date when they take to the stage in Sheffield this weekend.

Earlier this year, The Sherlocks – two sets of Bolton-on-Dearne brothers – became the first unsigned band to sell out the main room of famous Sheffield city centre venue The Leadmill since Arctic Monkeys.

Now the quartet are back with a pre-Christmas show at the slightly larger Plug.

Frontman Kiaran Crook – who is joined by brother Brandon on drums in the band, as well as guitarist Josh Davidson and his brother Andy on bass, says: “It’s a massive gig and it’s almost sold out.”

And the band have even bigger dates lined up next year.

Having already supported bands such as The Enemy, and Sheffield favourites Reverend and the Makers, they have now been invited to support The Libertines on their arena tour.

The Sherlocks play the 1,400-capacity Plug on Matilda Street, Sheffield city centre, this Saturday, December 19 – and tickets are selling fast.
