MUSIC lovers of Doncaster, make a note in your diary.
There’s a milestone of musical importance coming up. What is it, I hear you cry? Only twenty years of Tobias that’s all! And if the name doesn’t mean anything to you, then you are missing out big style on one of the the town’s major players in the land of local entertainment.
And what’s more, to celebrate there will be a special anniversary gig at the Hallcross on June 23 when the band will be joined by some good friends on and offstage. It really would be rude to miss it. So be there and wish the boys a happy birthday.
Meanwhile tomorrow (June 15) there promises to be a fun night at The Newton Arms, the Sprotbrough Road fun palace.
Fancy being crowned Karaoke Beauty Queen 2012? Get down to this lively old place when a “Mascarathon” should add even more to the proceedings. Take part, sing a song, maybe even dress up and warble into your hairbrush - you could even win a beauty hamper. Try out mascara and have a giggle as the blokes perform a sponsored Man’s Make Over.
Start time is 7.30pm and donations will go to the Refuge Charity.

Even if jazz isn’t perhaps your first choice of music you will probably have heard of Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen. This gentleman (pictured) is quite simply Mr. Jazz and his sounds have spanned generations from 1960 til now. Those years include a surprising fourteen top 13 records. Good news then is that Kenny and his band will be at Doncaster’s Civic Theatre on Thursday 21 June.
