Thumbing through my latest fashion magazines cocooned in a fluffy white robe whilst sprawled out on a beanbag I could literally feel all my stress melting away.
In fact the moment I arrived at Eden Hall Spa in Newark, after a few cross words with the sat nav lady on route, I felt a sense of calm wash over me.
The grand mansion built in 1875 is set in acres of lush gardens and provides a haven of tranquillity for those in search of much needed bit of me time.
After a stressful few weeks it was the ideal retreat for me to relax and let all my worries ebb away.
I was spoilt for choice in the spa area with an array of saunas, steam rooms and sensory showers.
From the rose infused steam room to the herbal caldarium - as I visited each room I felt more relaxed.
Fortunately for me the sun was shining so after spending time in the spa I ventured outside to the outdoor hot tubs to relax whilst enjoying a view of the grounds.
After that it was into the pool for a few lengths before lunch.
For those who fancy being a bit more energetic there’s a state-of-the-art gym and a range of fitness classes to take advantage of but for me this visit was all about chilling out.
In fact the only sweat I broke out in was whilst lounging in the sauna.
I made my way to the Seventh Heaven Restaurant for lunch and the setting certainly lived up to its name.
A room full of character with soaring beam clad towers and decadent chandelier’s.
I was seated next to the window with spectacular sweeping views of the estate - All the while still snuggled up in my fluffy white robe.
And the food was fitting of such a grand setting, a delicious three-course meal with a complimentary buffet full of fresh seafood, salads and tasty vegetables.
There was just time to let my food settle and then it was onto my Aromatherapy Associates Rose Infinity facial.
This ground breaking facial uses Nobel Prize winning research that works on a cellular level to repair ageing DNA promising increased moisture levels leaving you with a flawless, healthy, younger looking complexion.
From a tingling enzyme peel that I could literally feel working to a relaxing cool stone eye massage the 55 minute treatment was divine.
I particularly enjoyed the neck and shoulder massage that was included in this treatment.
The facial was lovely, so relaxing and my skin was noticeably more radiant in the weeks after.
I will certainly be returning to Eden Hall but will be relying on a good old fashioned map next time rather than a sat nav.
