Shoppers can find designer bargains at a pop-up boutique in Meadowhall - and raise money for a good cause at the same time.

The Charity Chicks pop-up shop is being run by the shopping centre in conjunction with South Yorkshire charity Safe@Last which helps young runaways and vulnerable children across the county.

In 2010, Safe@Last hosted Meadowhall’s first ever charity shop, selling used designer clothes and accessories as well as pieces donated by celebrities.

The boutique returned in 2011 and proved a big success, raising over £31,000.

After a year away the pop-up boutique is set to return to Meadowhall as part of its ‘Park Life Summer’ pop-up campaign.

It will be located on Lower Park Lane between House of Fraser and Debenhams and opens from this Monday, August 19.

New and used clothes and accessories have been donated by supporters of the charity.

Hilary Massarella, Safe@Last’s Founder Trustee, said: “We’re very grateful to Meadowhall for its continuing support and for inviting the Charity Chicks shop to return.

“Recycling and purchasing used clothes is a great way to support charities, and shoppers can pick up some amazing bargains.”

Alex Caley from Meadowhall added: “Charity Chicks has proved a huge hit with our shoppers in the past, and we hope the boutique will once again raise thousands of pounds.”

The funds will go towards Safe@Last’s education and prevention programme.
