Rescue Day, the emergency services event , promises yet again to be a great family attraction, promoting the vital work of local and regional 999, rescue and voluntary services.

The event takes place at 7 Lakes Country Park and, with less than a month to go,  the organisers are putting together a full day’s schedule of high-octane live action emergency displays with East Midlands Ambulance Service, Humberside Police and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service at the centre of the action.

But there will also be many more regional rescue and support teams involved.

The event chairman, Chris Long, said: “Our constant aim is to run an event that lets the public get up close and see the great work that our 999 and support services do and how they deal with incidents, as well as the vehicles and equipment they use, which we hope generates a greater appreciation and understanding. We also use the day to give road, rail, water and fire safety tips to help keep our communities safer and we wrap it all up in a fun day that appeals to all of the family.”

The day raises funds for charities and good causes and has funded emergency equipment including community defibrillators to many villages and locations across North Lincs.

The team behind running this popular event include many serving local emergency service staff who come together each year to volunteer and make Rescue Day happen. Follow Rescue Day on Twitter: @Rescue_Day or for the latest information.
