A Doncaster-based manufacturing firm has shared some old pictures of the business - and is appealing for ex-employees to come forward and provide them with even more.
Radiator maker Stelrad, based in Rowms Lane, Mexborough, wants to hear from former workers so they can piece together a comprehensive history of the company, which is believed to have had a presence in the town since 1929.
The firm will use any memories or photographs to form a timeline for staff and customers to view.
Sarah Baker, the company’s marketing and communications manager, who is leading the project, said: “We’re upgrading our factory tour offering here at Stelrad and part of that includes providing a timeline that highlights all the main developments here since the early 1920s.
“We have a lot of material from the company records and from early staff newsletters and copies of brochures that we have uncovered in the archives, but there are a number of quite large holes in our knowledge and we’d love to hear from people who used to work here, perhaps who have retired, but who have printed and photographic memories of their time working for Stelrad.
“We’d love to hear from them and I’d ask them to call me or drop me a note, giving me their phone number and we’ll be in touch to see what they can share with us.”
The company has shared some old pictures from their own archives and contributors with the Doncaster Free Press this week to help promote their appeal. The pictures show the Stelrad site in Mexborough as it looked in previous years and we can also show you some old adverts, revealing the firm’s marketing techniques from yesteryear.
Anyone who can help with their memories – in any format – can email Sarah at email@example.com. You can also post pictures and information to the marketing department, Stelrad House, Marriott Road, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, S64 8DN.
