Ridgeway Methodist Church is Grade II-listed and has been vacant for more than five years since worship ceased at the building, which dates back to 1806.
Last year the Sheffield Methodist Circuit was granted planning permission to convert the old chapel into a single-storey, three-bedroom property with an open-plan living area and parking – and now a buyer is being sought, with offers invited in the region of around £200,000.
SK Estate Agents, which is handling the sale, describes the former church on Ridgeway Moor as an ‘outstanding restoration opportunity’ in a ‘sought-after location’.
"Standing in just under one acre with an adjoining field, this stone built listed chapel retains a wealth of character and internal period features,” the company says.
"The property is freehold with the exception of the graveyard areas to the front and lower side which are leasehold and are not included in the sale.”
The chapel is listed on Zoopla.
