Daisy Bett, aged 23, cabin crew for an airline and Taron Hare, aged 24, bricklayer and semi-professional footballer, continued with their house buying dreams and were able to secure a brand-new home at Grove Farm in Kirk Sandall – a development by local housebuilder, Albemarle Homes.

“Charlotte and the Albemarle team have made the entire experience so straightforward and have really supported us even with the challenges we faced due to ever changing lockdowns and restrictions,” said Daisy. “We’re a great example of how you can move, even during these challenging times, getting the keys to our first home was just amazing!”

Having viewed other developments, the couple chose a three-bedroom, semi-detached Sloane style of home at Grove Farm and although they explored the possibility of using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, they chose to take a traditional mortgage arrangement.

The deposit for their home was £27,000 which was 15 per cent, a requirement for their particular mortgage at the time, although requirements change from lender to lender and as market conditions fluctuate.

The couple managed to save for their deposit using a Halifax Help to Buy ISA and took the decision to live with Taron’s parents to ensure they were able to save the maximum each month whilst still able to have a little left over for enjoyment.

Daisy concluded: “The layout of the Grove Farm development shows that Albemarle Homes really think about what house buyers want from their new homes. The homes are well spaced, offering plenty of privacy and a great range of styles meant that we were able to find a house type that gave us just what we wanted. The design of the layout is well considered and the finish and attention to detail is excellent. With its location near to the canal too, it meant that we felt we were in a peaceful semi-rural location whilst being able to commute to work in Leeds and Scunthorpe easily. I would always recommend Albemarle homes, the service from start to finish was impeccable; everyone is so friendly, and we love our home!”

Charlotte Kirk, Sales Manager, Albemarle Homes commented: “This is one of the best parts of what we do; helping people find their perfect home and making the process as straightforward and hassle-free as possible. Daisy and Taron were helped by our independent financial adviser to find the right mortgage product for them which is often a great help especially to first time buyers who are just entering the property market. We wish Daisy and Taron every happiness in their new Albemarle home.”

All properties now sold at Grove Farm however, the house builder is offering the Sloane at its Westmoor Grange development in Armthorpe, which is just four miles away, and Vicarage Fields in Beckingham, prices start from £179,950.
