A GLIMPSE of rail heritage will be recreated for a public display when Sheffield Model Railway Enthusiasts hold their annual exhibition.

The event at Birkdale School, Oakholme Road, Broomhill, is the group’s 50th. Model railways and tramways will be on display on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Spokesman David Rayworth said: “There will be 20 model railways on display, of various gauges, along with trade stands, preservation societies and demonstrations.”

Enthusiasts have recreated track layouts from South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Entry is free to anyone with a programme from one of the first 10 shows.
