The store has started selling pots of chip shop scraps – and they’re on sale at £1 each.

Anyone who’s ever set foot inside a chippy will now more often than not you’ll be asked: “Do you want scraps?” – which to many is chip shop heaven.

If you're not in the know, scraps are the bits of batter that fall away from fried fish and sausages, are left over in the frier, and can be used to top the chips as a special treat.

So if you’re after an authentic chip shop tea from M&S, you won’t be disappointed as you can now sprinkle on their own brand of scraps.

But the £1 price tag might upset many a northern pocket – they’re normally free from the chippy.
